A very special evening of the finest traditional music, featuring the leading exponent of Shetland’s rich fiddle tradition, Fiddler’s Bid.
There are a total of seven formidable musicians on stage in the Bid, including four fiddlers who seem to be linked by musical telepathy, a strong rhythm section of guitar and bass and the flawless touch of Catriona McKay on harp and piano.
They effortlessly blend the tradition of Shetland with wider musical influences, reels, jigs and polkas, are all delivered with amazing power and dexterity, while their beautifully measured waltzes and slow airs never fail to delight.
